Pop Smoke has reportedly passed away after he was shot in a home invasion robbery.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ during the early morning hours of Wednesday that two men wearing hoodies and masks broke into a Hollywood Hills home Pop Smoke was staying in, brandishing weapons.
The men shot at Pop Smoke, who was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. He was 20.
The suspected gunmen reportedly fled on foot and are still being sought.
Pop Smoke – born Bashar Barakah Jackson – was a budding rap star with a 2019 summertime hit, “Welcome to the Party.” The track served as the first single off his debut mixtape, “Meet the Woo.” Fellow New York rapper Nicki Minaj was featured on the remix.
