The man accused of shooting dead Angela Simmons ex-fiancé has surrendered to authorities, according to the suspect’s attorney.
Michael Williams turned himself into the Atlanta Police Department in connection with Sutton Tennyson’s killing on Tuesday, his lawyer Jackie Patterson told TMZ on Wednesday.
Williams, 44, is charged with murder, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, police told the entertainment website. Williams denies the accusations.

According to a police report, Tennyson, 37, was shot multiple times inside of his home on Saturday (Nov. 3). The former lover of Simmons was said to have argued with a gentleman before gunshots rang out.
Following Tennyson’s death, Simmons took to social media to pay tribute to her son, Sutton Joseph Tennyson Jr.’s father.
“Thank you for leaving behind my greatest gift,” she captioned a photo montage of the three. “I’m hurting. I’m numb. Thank you for the outpouring of love everyone. I can’t believe I’m even saying Rest In Peace Sutton. I promise to hold SJ down in every way I promise.”

Members of the Simmons family posted similar sentiments on the social media platform.
Prior to Tennyson’s untimely death, he faced Angela in a Manhattan courtroom on Tuesday (Oct. 30) for custody rights over their toddler son, reported Page Six.

The insider revealed Simmons was granted temporary full custody of their child after receiving a temporary restraining order against Tennyson in December. Simmons alleged Tennyson was violent with her.
Tennyson, who kept in contact with his namesake son via FaceTime, was seeking joint custody of baby Sutton.
Tennyson’s attorney, Daniel Nottes, said, “It’s devastating to hear about this tragedy. Mr. Tennyson was a loving father. It’s very sad his son will grow up without him.”
During Tuesday’s court proceedings, Simmons reportedly asked for an increase in child support payments. Tennyson paid $1250 per month.
If convicted, Michael Williams faces life in prison.
